Floor Plan

T14Sky Garden

  • Tue.-Thu.&Sun. 11:30-20:45、Fri.-Sat. 11:30-21:45
Upon entering the Sky Garden, you are greeted by towering forms shaped like volcanoes, as if you’ve stepped into a celestial planetary system. These structures, rising as the highest points of the curved walls, serve not only as architectural marvels but also as the hidden sanctuaries of the building’s mechanical and electrical systems.

T15|Flowery Wind and Windy Flowers

  • Created by Japanese furniture designer Kazuko Fujie, this public artwork, set beneath the open sky, captures the fluidity of lines and the sway of the wind. It invites visitors to experience a harmonious space where the sky, wind, sunlight, flowers, and greenery converge. In moments of quiet reflection, connect with the tranquility where nature, architecture, and humanity seamlessly unite.

S8Café Crotchet

  • Tue.-Thu.&Sun. 11:30-21:00、Fri.-Sat. 11:30-22:00

T11Spiral Staircase

  • Much like the melodies of European folk music, where the main theme repeats and spirals, walking through this space reveals a similar rhythm. The seemingly repetitive spiral staircase, ascending upwards, offers a variety of views from different heights, each providing a unique and unexpected experience.

T12|Symmetric Caves

  • Open during Venue Opening Hours
The only visible concave feature on the NTT’s exterior, these symmetric caves served as the reference for the building's 1:1 scale model. The curved surfaces symbolize the seamless flow of water and breath within living organisms, while the structure also enhances acoustic resonance.

T13Tutu Gallery

  • Open only during performances
Within the Tutu Gallery, the NTT’s beautiful curved walls are fully revealed, their elegant arcs evoking the feeling of entering a snow-covered world. Architect Toyo Ito has thoughtfully preserved this hidden sanctuary, allowing artists to express themselves freely. However, this flawless, curved space defies traditional curatorial methods, allowing the energy of creativity to emerge in its most vivid form.

T7|Falling Drapes

  • Creation by Japanese textile designer, Yoko Ando. Situated in the foyer of the 2F Grand Theater, the towering drapes mimic the texture of tree bark. Their irregular patterns not only enhance the visual intrigue but also serve an acoustic function, absorbing sound. These curtains create a striking contrast to the bustling energy of the lobby, offering a serene space of reflection before entering the theater.

T8|Moveable Sprinkler System(Cuckoo Bird Houses)

  • Looking up, one notices small boxes resembling birdhouses—these are, in fact, fire safety devices. Positioned above drapes with a texture reminiscent of tree bark, they evoke the image of a cuckoo's nest nestled in nature.

T9|Decorative Carved Furniture

  • Designed by Japanese furniture designer Kazuko Fujie, the public furniture on the 1st and 2nd floors follows a cohesive series, each with unique textures that captivate the eye. On the 1st floor, the pebble-like pattern mirrors the Tipsy-with-Art Creek below, while the 2nd floor’s design evokes the shapes of petals, fallen leaves, and tree shadows, reflecting the forest-like ambiance of the foyer. As light filters across the carved tables, it creates a soft, sunlit glow, embodying the essence of the design concept.

T10|Lightly

  • Created by artist SU Meng-Hung, the word “Lightly” in literature evokes images of effortless flight, graceful fluttering, and the elegance of towering, soaring structures. In this artwork, the technique of negative space seamlessly integrates the profiles of architects, artists, and citizens into the wings of the butterflies. Take a moment to look—can you spot architect Toyo Ito’s face hidden within?

    T1|NTT Overture

    • Situated in the outdoor plaza, this 1:1 scale model was part of the initial experiments in the construction of the theater. As architect Toyo Ito described, “The entire architecture is an opera,” and the architectural model, placed at the corner of the plaza, serves as an overture, heralding the grand performance of this magnificent structure before its official unveiling.

    T2|Listen

    • Created by artist LIN Shuen-long, this piece stands across from the park, in harmony with the NTT’s sound caves. It invites listeners to absorb the music echoing from the NTT, blending the architecture with the natural surroundings in a seamless melody.

    T3|Tipsy-with-Art Creek

    • The NTT’s design embraces nature, with a winding waterway that flows through both the interior and exterior. To bring the concept of “flowing space” to life, Toyo Ito visually connects these water paths, blurring the boundaries between inside and outside. Through this, he envisions art, like water, seamlessly weaving into our lives, allowing us to be gently immersed in it, as though in a state of joyful intoxication.

    T4|The Present(Sundial)

    • Created by calligrapher TONG Yang-Zi and architect CHIANG Le-Jing.The theater is an art form inseparable from time, a constant companion to its essence. The Present (Sundial) presents the calligraphic silhouettes from TONG Yang-Zi’s Silent Movement through a suspended projection. Bathed in light and shadow, it turns each second, like sunlight gently cascading through the sky. This piece serves as a reminder to embrace the fleeting beauty of the present moment.

    T5|Art Obsession Sea

    • Looking up, one can see the snowy mountain ridges stretching above. Lowering one’s gaze, the star-like breathing holes (round windows) reflect upon the calm waters below, immersing the viewer in a deep sense of wonder and serenity.
