At the Golden Bell Awards, actors and actresses reflect on how Taiwanese film and television have accompanied audiences through the chapters of their lives as the ceremony prepares to present its highest honor, the Lifetime Achievement Award. Just then, the opening strains of Life Is a Show begin to swell, and a mysterious host known as Lu makes a dazzling entrance, whisking the ceremony into Jazz A Golden Night, Taiwan’s first television-style jazz big band spectacular. One beloved screen classic after another fills the air, reviving unforgettable songs and legendary performers that have shaped generations. As the performance draws to a close, time shifts once more to the awards ceremony, where the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award is finally revealed.

Entering its third year, NTT Unboxing continues to champion artistic inclusion and cultural equity through the support of corporate partners. Together with performing artists, the program brings high-quality productions to communities across Taiwan. Between 2024 and 2025, Love Song! Love Song! One More Time! 1.0 and 2.0 were presented in seven touring performances across Taiwan, reaching more than 8,000 audience members and receiving an enthusiastic response wherever they were staged. Through these journeys, NTT Unboxing continues to expand access to the performing arts, extending the theater’s impact far beyond its walls.

Created especially for 2026, Jazz A Golden Night reunites the National Taichung Theater with the acclaimed musical theater company Studio M, inviting audiences to journey back to the golden age of Taiwanese film and television through the vibrant rhythms of jazz. Drawing on beloved theme songs and unforgettable screen melodies, the performance travels through tales of chivalry, historical epics, and timeless romance. Each song carries the collective memories of its generation, while a medley inspired by the works of celebrated romance novelist Chiung Yao revisits stories of passion, longing, and heartbreak, before returning to the poignant finale of Life Is a Show. Reimagining cherished screen memories through the language of jazz, Jazz A Golden Night unfolds as a glamorous, retro-inspired celebration that bridges generations, where nostalgia, theatricality, and timeless melodies come together in joyful harmony.

This production also forms part of the We ART Always Together: NTT 10th Anniversary Retrospective Exhibition, inviting audiences to look back on the theater’s remarkable first decade while looking ahead to the future. Through encounters with the arts and the conversations they inspire, the celebration continues with new memories, new possibilities, and the opening of the theater’s next chapter.
