This concert features a selection of masterful variation works by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Franck, Fauré, and Bach–Busoni. From the structural rigor of the Baroque era to the emotional depth of Romanticism, and from the intimate whisper of an aria to the grandeur of a chaconne, the program takes audiences on a journey across styles and eras, revealing each composer’s artistic pursuit of transformation through repetition.

With her warm, nuanced, and deeply resonant sound, pianist CHUNG Chia-Wei guides us through the interplay of light and shadow within the music, unfolding the many layers of emotion and inner tension woven into each variation.
