Rooted in Taichung, the Central Taiwan Philharmonic Orchestra has long shaped the city’s cultural landscape through classical music. Rite of the Mountains, presented at the National Taichung Theater, returns to the land and cultural origins, inviting audiences to hear the forests, prayers, and nature. The program opens with the festive Overture to Die Fledermaus, continues with a dialogue across time in Vivaldi and Piazzolla’s Four Seasons, centers on Tsung-Jen Hsieh’s Rite inspired by Indigenous heritage, and concludes with Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings, offering warmth, blessing, and continuity.
