Language is more than a tool for communication - it carries emotion and memory. This recital explores the beauty of diverse languages, cultures, and musical styles, inviting the audience on a journey titled “Between Words.”

​Marking Ssu-Han Yao’s return after years in Germany, the program traces a personal path across languages and cultures. The repertoire features works in multiple languages - starting with German Lieder and moving through varied cultural landscapes. ​The final Chinese Songs, composed by her mother Wan-Jen Huang with lyrics by Ssu-Han, are the heartfelt musical letters to her mother and homeland.
