2026 Ensemble Amore Chamber Series Ⅰ : Pulse
03/14(Sat)14:30
A selection of three piano quintets by Eastern European composers showcases unique personal styles shaped by diverse historical and cultural contexts.
Arensky’s Piano Quintet in D major unfolds through layers of thematic development, highlighting a clear and vibrant rhythmic drive. Kapustin’s Piano Quintet cleverly fuses classical structure with jazz elements, speaking the language of jazz through classical form to generate a rich, multilayered vitality of rhythm and innovation. Dvořák’s Piano Quintet No. 1 flows with lyrical melodies and a steady yet restrained rhythmic pulse, delicately sketching profound emotional depth. This program not only allows the audience to experience the diversity of Eastern European music but also imbues "Pulsation" with musical resonance—where melodies oscillate and the pulse leaps within the rhythm.
