〝As night descends, what does the serene world appear like?〞
Teater Refleksion transforms the theater into a magical world of the night, where the cabinets and wardrobes within the living room morph into towers and houses in the realm of object theater. The song of the blackbird unveils the night, while Mr. Night, clad in black, watches over the city. He becomes occupied as night falls, tending to the crying baby in the cabinet and quieting the clamorous game console atop the wardrobe. Just as tranquility is restored, a child who refuses to sleep emerges, curious to discover who cares for this peaceful city in the dark night. Thus begins the enchanting journey of Mr. Night and the child, traversing the dark yet beautiful night until the blackbird's song heralds the dawn of a new day.
Teater Refleksion and Andy Manley are internationally renowned for their poetic and child-centric creations. Night Light, created for and premiered at the 2017 Edinburgh International Children’s Festival, aims to help children overcome their fear of the night by emphasizing that without darkness, there can be no light to create magic. The production has been invited to tour in Denmark, the U.K., France, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, China, and Japan, receiving love from children of all ages around the world.
