Introduction
A radical reinterpretation by the visionary and talented Norwegian choreographer Alan Lucien Øyen. 《Avvenire》
An intense and visceral reflection on the figure of the Sophoclean heroine, reinterpreted in a physical, theatrical, and cinematic way.《Zercalo Spettacolo》

Inspired by Antigone, the 3,000-year-old tragedy by the Greek playwright Sophocles, the work explores a world fractured by division, where Antigone defies the law in order to protect her brother’s final dignity in burial. Through the physical language of German Tanztheater, Norwegian choreographer Alan Lucien Øyen retells this ancient story, reimagining the conflict between mythic ideals and contemporary values as a modern inquiry into law, violence, and conscience.

In the tradition of Tanztheater, movement and spoken language intertwine to create powerful emotional tension. Onstage, Antigone appears not as a single figure, but as a woman of many facets, caught in an ongoing struggle. Performed by winter guests together with longtime artists of Pina Bausch’s Tanztheater Wuppertal and Taiwanese dancer WU Meng-ke, the work unfolds as a poignant and striking landscape of bodies in motion.
