The story begins with Gretel’s family, where Gretel's conflict with her stepmother, Sia, leads her to run away from home. In the forest, she and her brother Hansel meet a self-proclaimed vegetarian wolf and are led into a magical candy house. Surprisingly, the witch in the house turns out to be Sia. The three escape into the forest and after another argument with their father, he angrily returns home. The wolf tempts the siblings to destroy the candy house to defeat the witch, but the wolf is the real villain. The siblings cooperate with Sia to defeat the wolf, and they return home to reunite with their father, the family reconciles, and they celebrate with song.
