Dancing on a Volcano Albert Mühlböck Piano Recital
11/28(Fri)19:30
In Dancing on a Volcano, pianist Albert Mühlböck traces a soundscape where the present meets the past — from Berg and Prokofiev to Ravel — crossing the boundaries between war, entertainment, and creation. The program juxtaposes the “serious” and the “popular,” pairing works that intertwine wartime memories with popular melodies to form a musical narrative about the fractures of civilization and the light and shadow of human nature. The title evokes an image of standing at the very edge of a volcano — in times of war and uncertainty — holding the present close, its fragility and fleeting beauty shimmering in every note.
