Ming-Jen Suen Percussion Recital: Soundscape
10/13(Tue)19:30
Continuing the pursuit of multidimensional timbral exploration first unveiled in the solo recital *Azure* earlier this year, Sun Ming-Chen — percussionist holding a doctoral degree from Northern Germany and currently serving as Assistant Professor at Tunghai University — presents his latest solo recital, *Soundscape*, at the National Taichung Theater.
This performance returns to the raw tension and narrative power inherent in percussion itself. Sun Ming-Chen will push the limits of six-mallet technique and polyphonic control, commanding the complex musical languages of contemporary works spanning Europe, America, and Asia. The stage further integrates computer music and AI-generated imagery, transforming technology into a real-time responsive "collaborator." Through timbral transformation and human-machine collaboration, invisible sound waves are rendered as an ever-shifting, intricately layered sonic labyrinth. This is not only the ultimate test of percussive virtuosity, but a grand sensory journey through the intersecting realms of sound, technology, and imagination — a true *Soundscape*.
