Duowise was formed in February 2022 and is dedicated to performing original compositions alongside jazz standards. The duo’s music, written by Yi-Ming Lin and Tsung-Yi Hsu, builds on a foundation of jazz harmony, enriched by the Chinese pentatonic scale and elements of classical music. Their works are presented through the language of classic jazz performance, with a strong emphasis on improvisational craftsmanship and on-stage interplay between musicians.

Both members received long-term, rigorous classical training, bringing refined instrumental control and exceptional command of their instruments. Their artistry blends classical motivic development with the energetic vocabulary of jazz, expressed through intricate musical interpretation and a wide palette of tone colors and timbral transformations. Duowise aims to deliver a distinctive and immersive musical experience, offering audiences in Taiwan a fresh and compelling sonic feast.
