From an ancient Amis rainbow legend to Olivier Messiaen's wartime masterpiece, The Ladder of Time Returns: The Memory of the Amis bridges mythology, memory, and hope across cultures and time. 

Following the acclaimed 2024 premiere at the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying), Taiwan Top Performing Arts Group Counterpoint Ensemble returns with a newly reimagined production. Curated by acclaimed Taiwanese composer Ching-Wen Chao, the performance intertwines Amis mythology, Indigenous chants, Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time, theatrical lighting, and archival imagery to create an immersive music theatre experience. Featuring Amis lyric tenor Chien-Chi Lin performing in the Amis language, the production invites audiences on a journey through myth, war, and the enduring symbolism of the rainbow. As Western chamber music meets Taiwan's Indigenous culture, timeless memories and blessings are transformed into a contemporary musical mythology that resonates far beyond borders.
