From Notes to Infinity: The Sound of Georg Philipp Telemann’s Fantasias
03/06(Fri)19:30
From Notes to Infinity: The Sound of Telemann’s Fantasias presents a complete performance of the Twelve Fantasias for Solo Flute (TWV 40:2–13) by Georg Philipp Telemann, one of the most innovative composers of the Baroque era. Composed in 1732–33, these unaccompanied works reveal the expressive and harmonic potential of a single melodic line through dance forms, counterpoint, and imaginative phrasing. Performed in their entirety on recorder by Meng-Heng Chen, this concert highlights both historical performance practice and modern sonic clarity, inviting audiences to rediscover the depth, color, and poetic freedom of Baroque music.
