Il barbiere di Siviglia by Gioachino Rossini
12/22(Wed)19:3012/24(Fri)19:3012/26(Sun)14:30
Ever since its premiere in 1816, the two-act opera Il barbiere di Siviglia by Gioachino Rossini continues to be one of the most beloved opera buffa after two centuries. The libretto was based on Pierre Beaumarchais's French comedy of the same title, Le Barbier de Séville. The lighthearted music propels a story revolving around the witty barber Figaro who plays a matchmaker for a young couple amongst hilarious and farcical plots. The innovatory Danish director, Martin Lyngbo, converts the 19th century opera setting into a 20th century black-and-white film style. In addition to the fast-paced fun physical on the stage, the internationally renowned conductor LIO Kuokman and the National Symphony Orchestra are invited to join the production and together, their new interpretation of an opera classic offers the audience a feast for eyes and ears.
Forestillingen er en lille perle i munter opfindsomhed og teatret har fuldstændig ret: den kan og bør ses af alle som et kærkomment intermezzo i det liv vi lever, et minde om hvor god de bedste komedier egentlig er...Ascolta
