The Hero’s Journey 2026 TNNUA Wind Band Concert
05/09(Sat)19:30
This concert is presented by the Wind Band of the Department of Music, Tainan National University of the Arts, conducted by Tzu-i Huang. Through a carefully curated program of solo and ensemble works, the concert explores the idea of the hero’s journey—where personal emotion, the spirit of the times, and collective memory intertwine. Concertos by Philip Sparke and Cécile Chaminade highlight the expressive and virtuosic qualities of the clarinet and flute, while Schwarz’s Zeitgeist reflects the pulse of the contemporary world. The second half features works by Sheldon, Yuichi Abe, and Galante, portraying images of revolution, heroism, and triumph, and concludes with selections from Les Misérables, offering a powerful reflection on struggle, resilience, and hope.
