Karl-Heinz Schütz & NTSO
05/18(Sun)14:30
NTSO invites Vienna Philharmonic flute concertmaster Karl-Heinz Schütz to collaborate again. Emanuel Bach was the son of J.S. Bach and worked as a clavier player in Prussia. The solo instrument of this concerto was originally the organ, and Emanuel Bach later rearranged the piece into a flute concerto. This concert also includes Mozart’s Symphony No. 35 in D Major, “Haffner”. It is commonly recognized that the quality of this piece exceeds the expectations of a preclassical composition. Schütz once again included Richard Strauss’ work in the program, showing a strong preference for this composer. Written during World War II, this Sonatine for Winds No. 1 in F Major is a mature woodwind chamber music piece created by the composer 60 years later.
