Carrousel des Moutons is the signature production of d’irque & fien from Belgium. Debuted in 2010, the show has been played in dozens of countries world-wide and praised as an all-time favorite. Seamlessly mixing music, magic, mime, and stunts, the two-man show still succeeds in conjuring a splendid world that you will definitely find amazing, hilarious, and adorable!

d’irque & fien was founded in 2005, Belgium. Dirk Van Boxelaere is a prodigy of magic tricks, acrobatics, and body stunts. Injured in one performance, he came to know pianist Fien Van Herwegen. And that was how d’irque & fien started. Their productions orchestrate a symphony of mime, magic tricks, acrobatics, stunts, and music. They reserve the spontaneity of street theatre while showcasing spectacular circus skills. The wordless performance further closes language barriers, allowing audience anywhere to indulge, relate, and crack up.

After his studies at Ésac (École Supérieure des Arts du Cirque) in Brussels and L’Ecole National de Cirque in Montreal from 1994 to 1997, Dirk and pianist Fien Van Herwegen founded d’irque & fien in 2005. Combining street theater and technical circus art, the acclaimed duo has toured in renowned art festivals and streets all over the world.

Mastering in piano at Académie de Musique Edegem from 1989 to 1999 and graduating from Beaux Arts St. Lucas Anvers in 2002, Fien joined Liga d’improvisation Belgique between 1999 and 2003, and later formed d’irque & fien with Dirk in 2005.
