Meet began developing its script, composition, and lyrics in 2020. In 2023, it premiered as a staged reading concert at the National Taichung Theater, generating widespread discussion and rave reviews. Director Daniel WANG and lyricist-composer Inred LIANG spent five years refining the production, and have now launched the full-scale musical. They enlisted award-winning music producer George CHEN as the music director and multimedia designer LUO Shih-Siang to incorporate elements like live video and streaming into the performance.

The story follows a boy named Hero with Asperger’s who meets the live streamer Manman online. Struggling with social anxiety, Hero is too afraid to meet her in person, so they share their lives through video calls. As Manman’s warm and sincere interactions unfold, Hero’s once monotonous life begins to transform.

One day, as Hero waits for his usual video call with Manman, she never appears. Days pass, and just as Hero is on the brink of despair, Manman suddenly logs on and tells him that to learn the truth, he must step out of his home and meet her in person.

How will the Asperger’s boy overcome his fear of leaving the house? How will the girl with a disability find a kindred spirit to complete her life’s journey? A compelling duet unfolds, accompanied by a musical performance just for you.
