2026 TSMC Hsin-chu Arts Festival: Portrait of a Sunrise
06/11(Thu)19:30
For five consecutive years, Bratsche has been honored with the Taiwan Top Award. This season, it presents "Portrait of a Sunrise", a program that begins with the songs of the land and enters the delicate world of the string quartet. Composer Wu Yu‑Chen draws on Hakka melodies as the creative impulse for his new work "Blue Hour", transforming the rise and fall of mountain forests and human voices into the motives and breathing of chamber music. Haydn’s Sunrise Quartet then unfolds in bright, ascending lines, followed by Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 12, Op. 127, which pushes the journey toward deeper spiritual tension. The three works form a single beam of light, moving from first glimmer to radiant brilliance.
