Bach composed many works in sets of six. Only the works for solo violin completed in 1720 was divided into three pairs of church sonatas and partita dances. Does this combination of sacred and secular records the composer's process of responding inwardly to himself and echoing the environment outwardly? Yu-Wen Chen’s Recital of 2025 “Bach 340: The Reflection of Mind" will embody and interpret the life trials, tests and transformations of Bach through his complete works for solo violin.
