Lang Lang, with his charismatic performance style and indispensable international status, has become one of the most iconic names in contemporary classical music. He will perform Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-flat minor, the same masterpiece that launched him to fame at age 17 when he stepped in at the last minute and stunned the music world. Another highlight is that Lang Lang and his wife, Gina Alice, will be performing Saint-Saëns' The Carnival of the Animals as a dual piano feature with the NSO. Composed of 14 movements depicting various animals, the suite is full of humor and imagination, bringing a unique lightness and warmth to the performance.
