That’s Possible, but Not Now draws its title from Kafka's short story "Before the Law," a seemingly plain phrase that encapsulates the tension between the hope and despair of existence, and the individual's helpless encounter within the labyrinth of systems. Choreographer LUO Wen-jinn and dramaturg CHEN Hung-chun use the language of dance to embody the absurdity and bewilderment of Kafka's literature. Through three acts—"Before the Clinic," "Before the Law," and "The Neighbor"—they depict the characters' struggles and powerlessness under authority and rules onstage. This mirrors the contradictions of the human condition, allowing the audience to see their own reflections in the absurdity and find connection and resonance with their own life experiences through the surreal dance language.
