Every individual is a unique one, but also a zero, that is in harmony with the universe. This time, in tiaen tiamen (me and us in Paiwan language) Episode 1, choreographer Bulareyaung Pagarlava rebelled against his regular creation process, allowing fervent fellow young Paiwan artists to lead the way. The piece is graced by two Paiwan creative talents, singer-songwriter aljenljeng tjaluvie (also known as ABAO) and visual artist reretan pavavaljung. The former would throw a tailor-made acoustic party to liberate our auditory senses while the latter create powerful images for a visual effect beaming sublime vibrance. In tiaen tiamen, artists join forces to lure dancers to leap into the flow and release the infinite momentum exclusive to their utmost restless youth. 

Bulareyaung Dance Company

The Bulareyaung Dance Company (BDC) was founded in 2015 by indigenous choreographer Bulareyaung Pagarlava in his hometown of Taitung, Taiwan. Bulareyaung led a group of young dancers to explore their own indigenous roots and cultures through physical labor in mountain, singing by the shore, and numerous field trips and to find their own unique bodily s. In 2018, BDC won Performing Arts Award of the 16th Taishin Arts Award with Stay that Way and the next year, the company won the Annual Grand Prize of the same arts award with LUNA, becoming the first consecutive winner of Taishin Arts Award.
