From ancient sanctuaries to the modern stage, from timeless sacred masterpieces to spirituals that carry the weight of lived experience, Spiritual Light is a journey through centuries of musical heritage, tracing the distant origins of choral music in religion and faith.
The program features sacred masterpieces from the 17th to the 19th centuries, spanning the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, and Romantic periods, and extends into modern works, including African American spirituals. Through the human voice, the concert revisits and reimagines the evolving styles of sacred music, revealing how its musical language has transformed and resonated across the ages.
