Resonating Origins: Voices of Taiwan
09/13(Sun)14:30
Resonating Origins is a choral concert centered on the evolution of choral music in Taiwan, presenting a curated program that reflects its journey from local roots to global perspectives. The repertoire features works in Taiwanese, Mandarin, and other languages, capturing the richness of cultural identity, everyday life, and collective memory. By combining Western classical choral traditions with contemporary compositions, the concert illustrates the transformation of choral art across time.
The program also highlights a collaborative performance between the Taichung-based Xiaoming Zhi Ai Choir and the Taipei-based Reminiscence Choir, blending the tonal colors of women’s and mixed voices to create a layered musical experience. With contributions from arranger Bo-Neng You, the concert expands the expressive possibilities of choral music. More than a performance, it is a cultural journey through sound, connecting generations, languages, and the shared spirit of Taiwan.
