TCB 34th Season Echoes from Afar
09/20(Sat)14:30
Crawling close to the earth, we hear the call of distant mountains. Leaves tremble like fleeting pointe steps across a silent valley; the people’s chests, like coastal rocks, stand silent yet unyielding. For its 34th season production, Taipei Capital Ballet invites Australia-based choreographer Prof. Xiao-Xiong Zhang to create Echoes from Afar—a new contemporary ballet blending classical technique with Eastern physical philosophy. Drawing from memories of forests and coastlines, the work echoes the land and history. Through the dancers’ bodies, it leads audiences into a dialogue between cultures and eras. In stillness and motion, we listen for the resonance that rises from deep within—and from beyond the mountains.
