Bedtime is the magical hour to start a whimsical journey into the dreamland where everything borders on reality and illusion. Our senses are amplified—the shadow in the corner instantly transforms into a monster and the rustle on the ceiling is the whisper of fairies. Directed by Antinomy Company, Bedtime Story is going to present a new format of family dance theater experience by inviting parent-child pairs of different age groups to co-create and take part as performers through a family dance workshop. This will be a great opportunity to bond with our children / parents and create wonderful memories by telling a story together through a family dance.

Choreographer & Producer / YANG Yue

With a major in choreography at the Graduate Institute of Theatre Arts and Playwriting, Taipei National University of the Arts, YANG Yue is currently the executive director of Antinomy Company. YANG works on genres ranging from contemporary dance, theater to dance film. She attempts to develop a unique physical language by blending the inadequate, biological and readable features of dancers’ bodies. With movement of the human body as a conduit for performance, her choreography seeks to communicate with installation, light, sound, and video. Her recent works include Veins and Scenes from Marriages.
 

Director & Music Design / LI Yun

LI Yun holds an MFA in directing at the Graduate Institute of Theatre Arts and Playwriting, Taipei National University of the Arts. He is currently the head of Antinomy Company. LI works on a wide range of genres covering both modern and traditional theaters, including drama, lecture performance, music theater, dance theater, Taiwanese opera and hand puppet theater. His theater narrative is based on an aesthetic philosophy of object, focusing on the multiple meanings of texts, objects, light, sound, technology and mortal body. His recent works include Veins and The Moment for A Loser Rocking.
 

Antinomy Company

Antinomy Company is a versatile creative collective with members from different backgrounds such as literature, dance, music, theater and visual arts. Using text, body, sound, light and space as the main experimental materials, Antinomy Company explores the intersection of different art forms like theater, performance art, sounds and installations, especially the polysemic possibilities.

As its name implies relativity and contradictoriness, the team currently focuses on observing and addressing the conflict between the internal and external experiences of individuals through the diversity of elements, structures, and expressive forms.
