印度歌舞劇挑動莎士比亞神經

英國環球莎士比亞劇院委託創作

北印度傳統歌舞重新演繹莎翁筆下的喜劇巔峰之作

《第十二夜》為英國環球莎士比亞劇院委託印度團體劇場The Company Theatre製作，在倫敦莎士比亞戲劇節演出時，成功贏得英國觀眾的喝采；本劇獲得印度2014年最佳劇場製作、評審團特別獎、最佳女配角獎等大獎。
 

臺中國家歌劇院於莎士比亞逝世四百週年搬演此齣以東方傳統翻轉西方經典的作品，令人耳目一新。

故事講述奧利維亞家族中，兩場正悄然進行的戰爭。在莎翁擅用的巧合、女扮男裝、單相思、一連串誤會及複雜的三角關係下，印度導演阿圖．庫瑪讓演員打破第四面牆，讓演出者隨時進出演出當中，時而載歌載舞，時而在旁圍觀，似是與觀眾同在，對演出中的角色品頭論足…在載歌載舞的印度樂舞中，帶給觀眾最渾然天成、笑聲不斷的莎劇。

Piya Behrupiya, a play by The Company Theatre from India originally commissioned by Shakespeare Globe Theatre in London, is a Hindi adaptation of Shakespeare's famous comedy Twelfth Night. It is a story of coincidence, unrequited love, crossdressing, and a complex series of misunderstanding. Having been sold out in over 16 cities, Piya Behrupiya is a production filled with fun characters and Nautanki-style acting, singing and dancing. It is sure to be the most fun the audience has ever had with Shakespeare.
