舒伯特在逝世前一年，以德國詩人穆勒（Wilhelm Müller）24首詩為本，譜寫令世人魂牽夢縈的鋼琴聯篇歌曲《冬之旅》；後有當代作曲家漢斯．詹德改編為華麗生動的管絃樂版，配器手法辛辣重現後威瑪時期酒店風格。

被譽為「英國當代最具想像力的劇場導演」妮夏．瓊斯，此次攜手《冬之旅》最佳代言的英國男高音伊恩．博斯崔吉與國立臺灣交響樂團，以德國表現主義風格的舞台多面投影，營造出滿溢光影、黑白幻鏡的音樂劇場。熾愛中帶著黑色驚悚、絕望中保留潔白的憂傷，音樂、人聲、影像呈現熟練精巧的超完美混搭。

Loss of love is just the beginning of Schubert’s haunting song cycle, reinterpreted with Hans Zender’s startling orchestration which evokes the abrasive cabaret style of post-Weimar Germany, and is adapted for the stage in this theatrical production.

Renowned British theater director, Netia Jones, joins Ian Bostridge, a world-leading performer of Winterreise, and the National Symphony Orchestra led by Swiss conductor Baldur Brönnimann for an unforgettable night of music and heartache. Jones approaches her multimedia work like a painting, artistically integrating film, video, projections and traditional design into live music performances. Accompanied by German expressionist-style projections, this staging adds images to the powerful emotions of Schubert’s music.
