Helgard Haug is a German author and director. She started her creative career in 1998 in fields including theater, photography, and fine arts. Constantly pushing boundaries, she has ventured into cross-disciplinary collaborations, from recreating the scent of Berlin's subway to co-creating with elderly women over 80 years old. In 2000, she co-founded the Rimini Protokoll with Stefan Kaegi and Daniel Wetzel. Through diverse collective creations, they have expanded the theater's horizons, offering fresh perspectives on characters, politics, and societal issues. Their works have earned numerous international awards, including the 2007 FAUST Theater Prize and the 2008 European Theater Award.
