Noriko Tanetani
Fiordiligi
Soprano Noriko Tanetani, a recipient of the Agency for Cultural Affairs’ Overseas Study Program scholarship, pursued advanced studies in Milan and Lugano and has received awards at numerous vocal competitions. She is a frequent performer at the New National Theatre, Tokyo and Tokyo Nikikai Opera Theatre, where her repertoire includes Donna Anna in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Norina in Donizetti’s Don Pasquale, Berenice in Rossini’s L’occasione fa il ladro, Adele in Johann Strauss II’s Die Fledermaus, and Papagena in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte.
Tanetani has appeared in a wide range of operatic roles, including Violetta in La Traviata under the baton of Alexander Soddy, and the Voice of the Falcon in Peter Konwitschny’s production of Die Frau ohne Schatten. Her acclaimed portrayal of Fiordiligi in Laurent Pelly’s Così fan tutte, conducted by Christian Arming, was praised for the warmth and richness of her voice and the emotional depth of her interpretation.
In 2025, she appeared as Tsū in Ikuma Dan’s opera Yūzuru under the baton of Kazuki Yamada, bringing remarkable sensitivity to the role of a woman whose devotion ultimately demands self-sacrifice.
