CHANG Chih-yuan

Conductor

CHANG Chih-yuan holds a Master degree in Orchestral Conducting from The Juilliard School in New York, as well as a Bachelor degree in Music Performance and a Master degree in Percussion from Boston University. He has served as assistant conductor of the Taipei Symphony Orchestra, a violinist with the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, and conductor for various orchestras including the National Chiayi University Symphony Orchestra, the Taichung Municipal Cingshuei Senior High School Orchestra, the Caotun Junior High School Orchestra. Additionally, he was the violin instructor at the Shaung-Shih Junior High School and Guang-Fu Elementary School. In 2023, he participated in the 5th Bucharest International Conducting Competition, where he won first prize and conducted Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 “Eroica” with the Bucharest Symphony Orchestra at the winners’ concert to great acclaim. The international conducting masters who have deeply influenced him are Eliahu Inbal, John Axelrod, and Lan Shui .
