LAI Chi-hsia
Concept, Music, and Sound Installation Design
Born in Taichung, Taiwan, Chi-hsia Lai is a sound artist, music designer, performer, and educator, dedicating her practice to the performing arts.
She is currently the Co-Artistic Director of One Litre Sound, and the 2025-2026 Artist-in-Residence at National Taichung Theatre.
She has been selected for residencies at GRAME Centre National de Création Musicale in Lyon, France, Het Entrepot in Bruges, Belgium, Ting Shuo Hear Say in Tainan, and the Taipei Artist Village, and has also served as a computer music teacher at several schools in Taichung. Her works have been presented at festivals including the Taiwan International Arts Festival, Kaohsiung Spring Arts Festival, Taipei Children’s Arts Festival, the New Idea Experimental Theatre, Close to You Theatre Festival, the Juming Museum Children’s Art Education Biennial, and the Tokyo Experimental Festival. Her recent work focuses on the relationship between local culture, objects, and sound art.
