Belgian theater company Still Life was co-founded in 2011 by Sophie Linsmaux and Aurelio Mergola. Placing “the body at the core,” the company is dedicated to establishing a distinctive on-stage language, emphasizing the connection between physicality and emotion. Their works, often devoid of verbal communication, are nevertheless intriguing, subversive, and infused with a blend of humor and quirkiness. Their debut production, Où les hommes mourraient encore, envisions a world without death. Subsequent works like Keep Going and Frozen also revolve around the theme of death, evolving into a unique and meticulous visual theatrical form. Since July 2019, the company has been an associate artist at Théâtre Les Tanneurs, Brussels.
