Romeo Castellucci, the acclaimed Italian theater director, is known for his versatile creative pursuits as an actor, writer, visual artist, costume and lighting designer, and sound engineer. His works, inspired by classical art and literature, are expressed in a distinct personal style and evocative symbolism, which has made him a popular festival artist. Co-founding Societas in 1981, Castellucci merged advanced technology with artistic craftsmanship to create groundbreaking productions. In 2018, his Societas Democracy in America was invited to grace the stage of the National Taichung Theater, sending ripples of praise and applause throughout the island.
