LAI Chueh-yu

Soprano. LAI holds Doctorate in Music from the National Taiwan Normal University and Master degree from the Royal Academy of Music in the UK, where she studied under Amanda Roocroft and Rosa Mannion. In 2014, she won first prize at the Clara Schumann Lieder Duo Competition in Leipzig, Germany. She completed her undergraduate studies in the Department of Music at the National Taiwan Normal University, where she studied under Professors LEE Ching-mei and YANG Ai-lin. Her recent performances include roles in Massenet’s Cinderella,  Literary Musical Theater-Song of Kasayama, Debussy’s Pelléas et Mélisande, Donizetti’s L'elisir d'amore, Johann Strauss II’s Die Fledermaus, Mozart’s The Magic Flute, Verdi’s Don Carlo, Rossini's Le Barbier de Séville, Bernstein's Candide, Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel, Puccini’s Suor Angelica, Bizet’s Carmen, Verdi’s La Traviata, Mozart’s Così fan tutte, and  Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty. She has been invited to tour in Italy, Japan, and Spain. She is currently a member of the Opera Studio at the National Theater and Concert Hall, a member of the Association of Vocal Artists of R.O.C., and an honorary member of the Phi Tau Phi Scholastic Honor Society.
