CHOW Hiu-man

Puppet Design

CHOW Hiu-man graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, where she specialized in prop making. During her internship at Puppet & Its Double Theatre, she demonstrated exceptional skills in both fabrication and visual design.

In 2016, she created the puppets for Sanko’s Summer Vacation. She later collaborated again with the company for the 2018 The Most Beautiful Bay Carnival and the 14th World Congress, designing large-scale puppets inspired by ocean imagery.

In the same year, she also worked on the outdoor opening performance of the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying), producing the puppets of the Mountain God and the Sea God. Together with the Puppet & Its Double Theatre puppet-making team, she created delicately operable giant puppets standing 4.5 meters tall.

In 2023, she designed both the puppets and stage for Puppet & Its Double Theatre’s production The Barefoot Door-gods
