CHEN Han-wei

Baritone CHEN Han-wei was born in Italy. He graduated from the New England Conservatory in 2021 with a Graduate Diploma in Vocal Performance, supported by a near full scholarship. He also holds master’s degrees from National Taipei University of Education and Taipei National University of the Arts, and has been pursuing doctoral studies in music at National Taiwan Normal University since 2022.

While studying in the United States, CHEN was selected for the Central City Opera Young Artist Program in 2020, becoming the only Asian singer chosen for that season.

In recent years, he has appeared with leading Taiwanese arts organizations, including the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO), Taipei Symphony Orchestra, Kaohsiung Symphony Orchestra, National Taichung Theater, National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying), Chien Kuo Symphony Orchestra, the National Theater and Concert Hall Opera Studio, Taipei Philharmonic Opera Studio, and Echo Symphony Orchestra.

His operatic repertoire includes leading roles in Verdi’s Falstaff, Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier, Massenet’s Cendrillon, Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, Puccini’s La bohème, and Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore.
