As one of the most exciting stage artists of today, the choreographer Hofesh Shechter is known for his explosive, highly impactful works that blend traditional folk styles into a contemporary vocabulary, often combined with his own atmospheric compositions that complement the unique physicality of his movement. With his Hofesh Shechter Company, founded in London in 2008, he has found international acclaim for his repertoire, and was listed as one of the 100 most influential people in theater by The Stage in 2017. His Grand Finale was named best choreography of the year by the influential dance journal Tanz in 2018; in the same year, he was awarded an honorary OBE at the Queen’s Birthday Honours.
