LIN Yi-wei
Ferrando
Tenor LIN Yi-wei holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Lied and Oratorio from the Mozarteum University Salzburg in Austria and a Doctor of Music degree from Taipei National University of the Arts. Since pursuing advanced studies in Europe in 2009, he has appeared regularly in Italy, Germany, and Austria.
Since returning to Taiwan, LIN has remained active on the concert stage, collaborating with leading ensembles including the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO), Taipei Symphony Orchestra, Kaohsiung Symphony Orchestra, National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra (NTSO), the Munich Bach Choir and Bach Orchestra, Evergreen Symphony Orchestra, and Taipei Philharmonic Orchestra. His repertoire encompasses a wide range of major oratorios and large-scale choral works.
His operatic roles include Prince Ramiro in Rossini’s La cenerentola, Ferrando in Mozart’s Così fan tutte, Count Camille de Rosillon in Lehár’s The Merry Widow, Rodolfo in Puccini’s La bohème, Goro in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, the title role in Wagner’s Tannhäuser, Jaquino in Beethoven’s Fidelio, and Fenton in Verdi’s Falstaff.
Committed to promoting Taiwanese vocal music, LIN has recorded albums including Our Times, Our Songs: Contemporary Chinese and Taiwanese Art Songs and Taiwan Music Image XII The Autumn Tale- Selected poems of I-Chih Chen and Works by Taiwanese Composers. He is a member of 詠樂集, serves as vocal coach of the National Taiwan University Chorus, and is Adjunct Assistant Professor at Fu Jen Catholic University, National Taichung University of Education, and National Taiwan Normal University.
