Wins you over with its simplicity, charm and air of sweet melancholy.──The Guardian

Musical Once has won eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album. Adapted from the 2007 romantic musical film of the same name, Once portrays the story of a heartbroken street musician in Dublin whose sorrowful songs catch the attention of a young Czech lady. Through music, they express love and loss, singing with raw emotion, capturing the essence of romance, vulnerability, sorrow, and sweetness. As everyone becomes enthralled by the subtle chemistry between them, what dramatic changes will fate bring next?

The heartfelt duet “Falling Slowly” from the film won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2008. Following its Off-Broadway debut in 2011, the musical garnered tremendous acclaim, swiftly announcing its move to Broadway after its first performance. It rapidly gained popularity, earning 11 Tony Award nominations in 2012 and securing 8 wins, including Best Musical and Best Book of a Musical. In 2013, it further received the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album, and in 2014, it was honored with the Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in Music.

Musical Once features music and lyrics co-created by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, with the book written by Irish playwright Enda Walsh. Directed by Northern Irish director Dean Johnson. Through the seamless integration of live singing, instrumental performances, and dancing, the production offers a more profound depiction of the characters' inner worlds compared to the film.

The Taiwan tour is an IP-licensed, brand-new international tour version that premiered in 2023. It features a newly and meticulously crafted stage design, with brilliant theatrical lighting that enhances the ambiance and amplifies the emotional impact of the music. The tour stars Arthur Darvill, the acclaimed actor who recently won the 2023 Olivier Award for Best Actor and who starred in the original productions of Once in London's West End and New York's Broadway, alongside Ines de Clercq.
