LIN Meng-huan

Playwright

Born in Taichung, Taiwan, LIN Meng-huan(a.k.a. Dazi) holds a master's degree in playwriting at the Department of Drama & Theatre, National Taiwan University. Once serving as the Head of Puppet & ITs Double Theater, he has pursued a career in both playwriting and screenwriting. He writes in different genres: the Morden Myth, on American-village Road, and Puppet & It Double and The Contemporary Puppetry in Taiwan 1999-2014. He has Written more than 20 theater scripts, including the well-known An Oxcart for Dowry and A Dog's House, and screenplays, Golden Darling and The Teenage Psychic. With The Teenage Psychic, LIN was nominated for the Best Writing for a Television Series of Golden Bell Awards of Taiwan. A Dog's House was awarded the 1st Prize of Playwright of the 15th Taipei Literature Award in 2013. Jane's Magic Egg of Time and The Grey Feather were awarded the 1st Prize of Playwright of the Taipei Children's Art Festival Award. The Yearbook was awarded the 3rd Prize of Playwright of the Hong Kong Youth Literary Awards. Tip Tap Dog was premiered in Yokohama, Japan under his direction. In 2018, The Brotherhood was selected by the Road to Tokyo Tokyo Festival to be staged in Japan.
